All Athletes Shouldn’t Train the Same Way

Most high school athletes want to level up so they can get on college scouts’ radars. But their sporting success is limited, and here’s why:

They lack a strong foundation that only results from working with a seasoned strength and conditioning professional in a program specific to their sport.

Typically, coaches are experienced in just one area—usually football. So, they train all their student-athletes the same way, whether they’re football players or not.

It shouldn’t be this way! Sports training isn’t one-size-fits-all. Athletes should follow programs scaled to meet their unique skills and abilities, meaning volleyball players need volleyball-specific training.

With the right program led by an experienced volleyball trainer, athletes can grow their confidence and abilities as they progress through each training program level.

Maximize Your Volleyball Opportunities

Experience the Difference with Expert Training

I’m Aaron Larmore, and I train middle school, high school and college volleyball players to elevate their on-court performance so they can earn college scholarships and go Division 1.

My approach doesn’t limit growth potential but instead forges results quicker, allowing more athlete success. Athletes who work with me become healthier and more likely to earn All-State, All-American, and D1 scholarships and make national teams.

1
Discovery Call & Questionnaire

We’ll have a no-obligation discovery call to discuss goals and how we can work together.

I’ll share training options, and we’ll decide if my programs are a good fit.

If we agree to move forward, you’ll complete an Athlete & Parent Questionnaire to identify strengths, weaknesses, and training priorities that will help you the most.

2
Evaluation & Assessment

I’ll conduct a Movement Evaluation of basic strength and sport-related movements to tailor training to your needs.

To get started, each athlete receives an Output system to assess their mobility, arm speed and power, jumping and first step quickness.

Using the same technology as top professional and college sports programs provides me with real-time feedback on your outputs (jumping/speed/power) to individualize your program further, track progress and monitor fatigue.

3
Customized Training

I’ll create a customized in-person or online training program, including resistance and sports training to improve quickness, agility and jumping.

As you progress, you level up and earn a t-shirt for your promotion. Leveling up allows the program to progress as you progress, so that you remain engaged, challenged and achieve higher physical milestones.

All programs include access to my exercise training library of tutorials on how to perform each exercise and why it’s essential for the sport.

4
Monitoring & Reporting

As we progress, I’ll monitor your training with check-ins and training debriefs.

Throughout the year, I gather real-time feedback on the athlete's performance from the athlete, their coach, and parents. Over time this also leads to peak performance.

During the school or club seasons this communication has proven paramount to producing injury-free and highly successful volleyball players!

Before working with me, clients want to know…

  • Why should I hire a strength and conditioning coach?
Most high school coaches create programs that aren’t volleyball-specific or ACL preventative. They focus on developing athletes to be strong but don’t train them to have good mobility, strength and movement through the hips, upper back and shoulders. This limits the athletes arm speed, explosiveness in their jumps and first step quickness. Additionally, most school programs don’t have the proper ratio of coaches to athletes, so their programs are limited and not scaled appropriately. My programs solve these problems. As a strength and conditioning coach, I program specific to the athlete, working alongside them to provide the proper training to build a foundation of mobility, stability and strength. My approach gets quicker results, which creates more athlete success and opportunities to get on college scouts’ radars sooner. Side note: There are over 400,000 ACL injuries in the United States each year, and the truth is most ACL tears are non-contact injuries, aka "movement inefficiencies." These injuries have never been an issue for the athletes I train and can be extremely preventative. When an athlete receives intentional training that gets the athletes in the "correct positions" for jumping/landing, as well as, change of direction, then there becomes very little risk for sustaining this injury. Tip - Be Proactive!!
  • Do you work with athletes of all ages?
Athlete Academy programs are best suited for middle school, high school, or college athletes.
  • Do you train athletes in any sport, or is it volleyball only?
I’ve worked with athletes in various sports over the past 20+ years. While I welcome any athlete who wants to become their best, I focus on coaching volleyball players.
  • What kind of results do you get with the athletes you train?
Volleyball players I train are quicker, more powerful and more confident. I elevate their on-court performance and reduce the risk of injury by guiding them each step of the way. As they progress through each level on the training map, their confidence and abilities grow, helping them to get and stay in their optimal positions, maintain mental and physical resilience throughout the match, and increase on-court success. In my 20+ years of coaching, I’ve helped over 90 athletes earn collegiate scholarships, 70+ of which were Division I Scholarships. I’ve trained 13 High School All-Americans and an athlete who made the USA Volleyball team. You can see more of my athletes’ outcomes here.
  • Should I wait until scouts show interest before I start working with a trainer?
No! Don’t try to figure out your training strategy in hopes of getting noticed by scouts. Instead, set yourself up for success from the beginning by working with a seasoned coach who knows how to get you on the scouts’ radars sooner.
  • Are you certified?
Yes! I’m a certified strength coach, CrossFit Instructor (L2), StrongFirst Instructor (L2), and certified Functional Movement Specialist (FMS), among many more credentials and licenses. You can check out the complete list of my certifications, licenses and awards here.
  • How much does it cost?
Check out the Services page to see all of your options for in-person or online training.
  • I’m super busy already, so I’m not sure I have time for this—what’s the time commitment?
You don’t have time not to get support from a coach! Having a coach holds you accountable and positions you for success. When you work with me, I’ll customize your training program to fit your schedule, so you’ll have no problem keeping your commitments without getting overwhelmed.
  • If I get online training, will the coaching be as good as what you offer in-person?
Both the online and in-person programs offer the same level of expert training. The key is having a coach with proven results who specializes in working with young volleyball athletes. Whether I coach you in-person or online, I’ll make sure you’re getting the right exercises and the right training, and I’ll consult with you when you have questions. I offer online programs for athletes living outside my local service area in North Carolina, and I’ll work with you in-person at The Performance Academy in Apex, NC, if you live in Apex, Cary, Fuquay-Varina, Holly Springs, Morrisville, Raleigh, or surrounding areas.
  • What happens when your programs fill up—is there a waitlist?
Spaces are limited, so apply for the upcoming session as soon as possible. Once the session reaches capacity, I’ll add you to a waitlist and notify you when a spot becomes available.
  • Are parents involved in the training program?
Yes! When I work with middle school and high school athletes, it's important that parents are involved and engaged. As part of my process, I conduct a parent meeting to discuss my programs and share how parents can support their athlete’s success by encouraging proper sleep and nutrition.
  • How do I sign up?
Schedule a free consultation call so we can talk about my program options and decide which one is right for you.

You can be the next success story

“Aaron’s helped give many Iowa Rockets volleyball players the physical advantage necessary to compete at the top level. He understands athletics and performance training. He takes the time to learn about the athlete and adjust a training program for a specific sport, age, and skill level. Iowa Rockets players from seventh grade  through high school seniors (and beyond) have increased their quickness and vertical - which is so critical to the sport of volleyball.”
